Small Gestures

The leadership power of simple recognition.

Want to motivate your team?

Last week, Tony Robbins (or most likely his media team... but a guy can dream) liked a comment I made on one of his LinkedIn posts.

It was only a few sentences. Just a quick reflection on leadership mindset.

But that tiny moment?
It stuck with me.

Because even a one-second gesture from someone you respect can make you feel encouraged, seen, and more confident.

That’s why I love the principal “Encourage the Heart” as one of the pillars of the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership.

It’s not about grand speeches or public praise. It’s about this:
- A quick “thank you”
- A simple “I see your effort”
- A 5-word comment that makes someone feel seen

This week, I encourage you to lead with small gestures of encouragement.
Don’t underestimate how far a small gesture can go.
